Hey, we’re in the NYT. More specifically, the wineries of WW are in the NYT. It’s interesting for me to read what out-of-towners, and specifically, journalists, pick up about WW: what restaurants they note, what they find compelling about the area (apparently, we’re not just onion and wheat fields any more). All the emphasis on wine kinda irks me, but then, what do we really have besides onions, wheat and wine??
On a side note: I just pulled up the graphic in the article of houses for sale to find that my aunt and uncle’s house is one of the three houses in the article. Their house is in the NYT. I feel a little bit famous, er, perhaps infamous.
I have good friends, good weather, and a short commute; and I can carpool. I wouldn’t trade it for a city, even the Tri-Cities.
We flew to Denver Saturday, drove to Campion for the cousin’s graduation, got not nearly enough sleep, and drove far too many hours in Colorado. On the plus side: we got to hang out with the cousins, aunts and uncle. On the negative side: I caught a cold and went to bed as soon as we got home yesterday, effectively sleeping from 8 o’clock last night until noon today. Costco was closed yesterday. And my boss was in a bad mood today. I’m far too crappy feeling to deal well with such things. On the plus side: the spouse made me dinner and has listened very patiently while I whine. He’s a good husband.?
Reading this article this morning gave me +10 cynicism. Come one, the IRS audits the United States’s own taxpayers for misreporting a couple hundred dollars, but the frickin’ government can’t keep track of $8.1 billion? I say take the money out of Rumsfeld and Cheney’s pay.
There’s only one thing to do when it’s 82 degrees outside and still getting hotter: eat ice cream. In my case, cookies & cream was in the freezer, and it was very good. Secondary activity would be eating strawberry lemonade slushies, but since no grocery store in the area has had a sale on lemonade recently, I’m completely out.?
Of course, I should not be sitting inside, on my butt, eating ice cream or drinking slushies; I should be hitting the nurseries and planting stuff like cw?but as yet, I have not. I am having a really hard time being motivated. How should I motivate myself?
The blog is now hosted in a medieval fortress, guarded by Lego men in armor, thanks to the?spouse.
Or so one would believe by the dates on my blog posts. Maybe if I complain about it on my blog, my?site administrator?will finally do something about it. Since I’m too lazy to figure out how to fix it myself after the last time when I fixed it myself and then the spouse updated something on Wordpress and made the date/time out of whack again.??It’s May 9 at 5:18 p.m. ?
