Mommy skills upgraded

I have added +10 sleep inducing to my mommy skills. Veronica took both her naps today. (And I got one, too, snuggling with her this morning.)

At least I got something accomplished today.

Outside a convenience shop / gas station this morning on the way to work this morning:

Double punch Mondays

coffee soda

the spouse: that sounds like the worst drink ever. What does coffee soda taste like, anyway?

Zombie parenting

Veronica has been waking up before five and refusing to take naps. This makes for a tired, cranky baby girl. And a tired, cranky mama. Considering the resurgence of drool, I think she is working on some more teeth.

Christmas is coming

I am enjoying our Christmas season. Friday night we borrowed the infamous quesadilla maker and had lots of cool people over to eat lots of yummy, cheesy quesadillas. The best thing about the situation: we still have the quesadilla maker until tomorrow, so we’ve been eating leftovers all weekend.

Yesterday, we got to eat lunch with old friends who recently moved to town (and moved into the house I lived in part of my freshman year of college). And Veronica got to meet her Nanny Myers.

Now, to pack in all the Christmas celebrating we can. Need to play Risk 2210 (and ?many other games, too), hang out with a bunch of people who are coming through town for the holiday and somewhere in there, I have to go to work. Ted, however, gets to hang out with the baby girl all day long, all week long. I’m jealous.

As soon as Christmas is over, we begin planning Veronica’s first birthday. That means I get to go shopping again.

Anti-fraud

Time it took Falcon to call us after our afternoon online spending spree: 5 minutes.

It makes me giggle to hear the automated system attempt to pronounce our names.

Snow! and other happenings

A quick update:

Got to see three adorable munchkins this weekend. They’re growing up so quickly!

Veronica is fascinated by the snow that’s covering our world at the moment.

We have no heat in our car (despite the heroic efforts of a Matt and a Walter in the below freezing temperatures.) We do, however, have an appointment at the mechanic Tuesday morning. I voted for a new car today instead. I was vetoed. (I thought the budget committee was the only one with veto power, but apparently I was wrong.)

I made delicious chocolate chip scones tonight. I’m definitely going to repeat the experience.

We have finished the Christmas shopping.

I have to go back to work tomorrow.

Vacations always disappear too quickly.

It’s past my bedtime.
